Report Suspicious Activity at Substations
Electrical substations are essential parts of our power grid, but they can also be dangerous. High-voltage electricity flows through substation equipment, so it’s important to stay clear of these areas and the fences surrounding them.
Only authorized electric cooperative employees should ever approach or enter a substation. Electric cooperative employees wear proper protective equipment and are trained professionals who know how to safely work around electricity.
If you see any suspicious activity around a substation, call (501) 745-2493.
Here are some things to watch for:
- Open or unlocked gates
- Damaged fences
- Visible damage to electrical equipment inside the fence
- Unidentified people in unmarked vehicles tampering with the fence or equipment
If you see smoke or fire coming from a substation, call 911 immediately.
